The mission of the Harold Hunter Foundation (HHF) is to provide inner-city youth with valuable life experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth by encouraging and sponsoring their interest in skateboarding.
The HHF seeks to provide young people with assistance in pursuing their interest in skateboarding through mentorship, support and sponsorship geared towards nurturing their talent, individual creativity, resourcefulness and life skills. To that end, the HHF will help inner-city youth obtain scholarships to action sports camps, participate in local and regional skateboarding clinics and contests, connect them with potential sponsors, and provide professional mentorship and support.
Growing up in the Campos Housing Projects, Harold made his way through life on a skateboard, becoming one of the most recognized personalities to roll through the streets of New York City. As one of NYC’s first professional skateboarders, Harold consistently received media coverage in skateboard publications and other major media outlets and quickly became recognized worldwide. In his short lifetime, Harold became an international ambassador of the Lower East Side, sharing his passion and spirit for skateboarding and living life to the fullest as he traveled the world.
It is the goal of the HHF to continue Harold’s legacy because Legends Never Die!
